Dutch Bros Helps Raise Funds For Barista Killed In Traffic Crash

Zade Hakki, 22, was on his way to work at a Dutch Bros Coffee stand in Richland, Washington, when his motorcycle collided with a truck.

RICHLAND, WA — Dutch Bros Coffee is helping to raise funds for the family of Kennewick resident Zade Hakki, the 22-year-old Dutch Bros barista who was killed when his motorcycle collided with a large pickup in Richland on May 24.

Using the Give Hope charity website, Hakki's family and friends have set out to raise $20,000 to help with expenses related to his death.

According to Pasco's KEPR News, Hakki was traveling to work around 5:30 p.m. when he collided with a Dodge Ram pickup towing a utility trailer at the intersection of North Steptoe Street and Center Parkway. Hakki reportedly died shortly after the crash.

The truck driver reportedly remained at the scene and has cooperated with the investigation.

“Zade Hakki was an amazing member of the Dutch Bros family, one we’re already missing," Dutch Bros officials said in a statement. "Zade was loved by his customers and co-workers and was always making people laugh. He was the person you could go to for advice, help or friendship and know you would receive it without judgement. Right now, the Dutch Bros family is concentrating on helping our customers, crew and Zade’s loved ones through this difficult time."

Hakki leaves behind a fiancé as well as his friends, family, and extended Dutch Bros family.
