Paul Davis of West King County and Greater Seattle donates to RiverJunky
Paul Davis of West King County and Greater Seattle donates to RiverJunky.

Paul Davis of West King County and Greater Seattle local franchise office team members are donating their expertise, time, labor, equipment and supplies to help clean up the Skykomish River with RiverJunky, a non-profit river way garbage cleanup service founded in 2016 by avid fishermen determined to reduce the impact on the river’s eco system. The Paul Davis team is joining with volunteers who pick up, cleanup and haul trash with the nonprofit organization funded by public donations towards river conservation.
According to Greg Thode, Paul Davis office owner, he found out about RiverJunky’s environmental needs from employees who are avid fishermen and concerned about the issues of water pollution and contamination in the river. Thode and his staff decided to get involved as the pollution has effected the communities where the company is based and where employees work, live and play. The Skykomish River runs from the west side of the Cascade Mountains in the southeast section of Snohomish County and the northeast corner of King County.
“Our restoration pros are trained technicians who understand the science of clean-up and handling hazardous materials,” said Thode. “We apply technologically advanced methods in structural and surrounding property work for residential and commercial customers and apply our knowledge to the community service work we’re providing to RiverJunky,” he said. Recently, Paul Davis and 86 local volunteers hauled more than 20,000 lbs. of trash in just two hours from in and around the river. A big part of the job included cleanup from debris left at a homeless camp on the river banks. Volunteer workers used shovels, wheelbarrows, and other tools to make many trips to and from dump trucks and vehicles donated by participants. The conservation events are designed to be serious, yet fun with prizes, raffles and refreshments.
“We are so proud of our team’s dedication to not only the company, but through their time and dedication to this important work. Even though we have fun during the local efforts, we also help RiverJunky with some statewide events to help restore the health of our beautiful waterways,” said Thode.
