Violent Text Causes Lockout At Monroe High School: Police

The lockout was lifted after a suspect was identified and authorities determined there was no further threat, according to police.

MONROE, WA — Monroe High School underwent a lockout Thursday morning after a text message threatened violence, according to police.

Monroe police announced the lockout at 8:35 a.m. in a tweet.

"Monroe High School has initiated a lockout due to a threat of violence that was received via text message," the tweet said. "Police are providing extra security and beginning our investigation. For the safety of students and staff, we ask that you please do not come to campus at this time."
