Bellevue Patch Asks: A Great Place for Kids to Ride Bikes in Bellevue?

A reader asked on Bellevue Patch's Facebook page for suggestions of places for kids to ride bikes. Here's what some readers recommended. What are your suggestions?

Do you and your kids have a favorite and safe spot to ride your bikes? Now that the nice weather is upon us, families in Bellevue want to know.

A reader posted the following question on our Facebook page:

I texted a cycling instructor at , and summed up her response:

I contacted a cycling instructor at Samena for some suggestions. She suggested some great places for kids: (near the whale), a trail by Samena Club and the . Hopefully that works out for you today!

But we put the question out to other Bellevue Patch Facebook readers and here were the following suggestions:

  • Depends on the age of the kids and how long of a ride. For littles who have just taken off their training wheels, is great: there's a circle path that goes all the way around the soccer field, then a gravel path that goes around the little pond.
  • Crossroads park is also excellent for beginning riders. Plus there are a ton of trail systems throughout Bellevue.
  • Another reader pointed out some that smaller bike riders need flat roads: 

  • I had that same question. Kids are 6 & 8, riding their "big" bikes, and can't do any big hills.
