Bellevue Police Foundation Seeks Executive Director

The volunteer position would oversee the organization that raises money toward crime-fighting tools for the Bellevue Police Department, such as night-vision scopes, police dogs and more.

The Bellevue Police Foundation, which raises money to give the Bellevue Police Department crime-fighting tools, is seeking for someone to service as its executive director on a volunteer basis.

Bellevue Police Foundation was created in 2009 to raise money to buy equipment and pay for programs for the . Since it was founded, the Bellevue Police Foundation has contributed more than $147,500 in equipment and training to the police department.

Equipment purchased with foundation money over the past three years includes night vision scopes, police dogs, iPads, policing software and the  used by downtown Bellevue police officers, according to the police foundation.

The Bellevue Police Foundation is seeking a dynamic, energetic, creative individual to serve in a volunteer capacity as the Executive Director. This person will help take the organization to the next level of visibility and financial success.

The Executive Director is responsible for publicizing the Foundation and its activities, soliciting contributions, monitoring the budget, overseeing the website, organizing and coordinating all fundraising events, serving as the public spokesperson, recruiting new board members,and preparing quarterly meeting agendas and attending the meetings.

The successful candidate willbe a well-connected businessperson with a real commitment to public safety and the mission of the . Prior nonprofit board membership and fundraising experience is highly desired. The estimated time commitment is 5-10 hours per week to start, and expected to increase to 20 hours per week as the Foundation grows. The successful candidate will need to make at least a 2-year commitment to this position.
