Due to continued inclement weather impacting schools in parts of the district, there will be a 2-hour late start today for all schools and there will be no breakfast. All Bellevue schools and full day programs, including Early & Extended Learning and Transition Programs will start two hours late and dismiss at the normal time. Part day A.M. and P.M. preschool classes will be canceled.

  • Buses will run two hours late from their regular schedule.
  • If your student uses Metro, check their website for the best available route at http://metro.kingcounty.gov/
  • During periods of poor weather, Metro would attempt to maintain service according to their regular schedule — even if school is to start late. Please listen to messages and have alternative means arranged to get to and from school if poor weather is present or predicted.
  • Morning and midday shuttles will be canceled.
  • There will be no district transportation for part-day preschool classes.
  • There will be no out of district transportation, including:
    • McKinney-Vento taxi service
    • Shuttles between schools
    • Tutorial or activity buses
  • Important: If limited bus service is necessary, please check with your school office or the district website for limited bus stop locations.

Please know that BSD’s grounds crew, custodial and facilities teams are on-site to keep schools safe throughout the day. Throughout the recent inclement weather over the past few weeks, parking lots and pavement have been plowed, sidewalks shoveled and cleared with snow blowers, and ice-melt has been spread. Special attention is paid to areas of high foot traffic, including stairs ramps, ADA parking spaces and crosswalks.

More information will be shared as needed. For information about the different messages that the district sends out for emergency closures and to understand the decision-making process, please visit our Emergency Closures webpage.

We urge families and staff to remain cautious and stay safe while traveling to and from school. We look forward to seeing everyone in person at school soon.
