2017 Lake Tapps Reservoir Spring Refill Update Released

The Reservoir has reached recreation minimum pool levels a month ahead of the April 15 deadline as adopted by Cascade and the homeowners.

From Cascade Water: Cascade Water Alliance and the Lake Tapps Community Council announced today that the Lake Tapps Reservoir has reached recreation minimum pool levels (elevation 541.5 feet) a month ahead of the April 15 deadline as adopted by Cascade and the homeowners.

The reservoir was drawn down this last winter for a five year reservoir inspection and to allow homeowners and some associations to repair bulkheads. Cascade also completed installation of a $1.3 million valve at the Powerhouse. This further ensures the reliability of the system.

Cascade will raise the reservoir, as it does each year, to the maximum full recreational level of elevation 543 feet during the middle of May to remind homeowners of the highest allowable level this reservoir can go in concert with existing homeowners’ agreements with Cascade.

Cascade will then maintain the Lake Tapps Reservoir between elevation 542.5 to 542.7 feet for the remainder of the spring and summer, barring weather or operational conditions.

All homeowners are encouraged to join with Cascade and others who provide essential services around Lake Tapps Reservoir for a community open house Thursday, May 18, 6 to 8 pm, at North Tapps Middle School. Watch for more information in residents’ mailboxes and in local papers.
