Bear Spotted In Bonney Lake: Police
Don't be alarmed, but be prepared to know what to do if you see a bear, police say.

BONNEY LAKE, WA - A black bear was spotted Thursday morning in northeast Bonney Lake, according to police. Police are advising residents to stay calm, but to know what to do if you encounter a bear.
The bear was seen roaming near Evergreen Drive and Church Lake Road, according to police. If you see a bear or run into one at a park, the state Department of Fish and Wildlife has some great advice on what to do.
Remember: there are no grizzly bears in Western Washington (or in the whole state). Black bears can still be dangerous, however. Don't feed them and don't approach them. This time of year, the bears are scrounging for food to prepare for a dormant winter.
