Downed Tree Leads To Power Outages For Bonney Lake Residents

Several hundred residents in Bonney Lake were without power for a few hours Tuesday after a tree fell on some power lines.

BONNEY LAKE, WA — Several hundred residents in Bonney Lake were without power for several hours Tuesday after a tree fell on power lines, resulting in a small fire.

According to the Bonney Lake Police Department, the fire and downed power lines were concentrated along the 9500 block of Angeline Road East.

For several hours, drivers were told to avoid the area and use an alternate route. Angle Road East has since reopened.

"Power is out in parts of the city, please treat each intersection as a 4-way stop," police posted to Facebook around 4 p.m.

Firefighters eventually extinguished the flames from the fire as Puget Sound Energy continued to restore power to the impacted area.

At 4:15 p.m., the power company reported that more than 235 customers were still without power in the area.
