Free Preschool Applications Now Open For Pierce County
Pierce County Early Childhood Education and Assistance Programs is a free, state funded preschool program from children ages 3 and 4.
SUMNER, WA — Pierce County parents have an opportunity to enroll their children in a free preschool program for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year.
Pierce County's Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) is a free, state-funded preschool program that, organizers say, is tailored to meet the needs and skills of individual children.
The program is available to families with kids who will be age 3 or 4 by Aug. 31.

ECEAP has classrooms in:
- Bonney Lake
- Buckley
- Eatonville
- University Place
- Orting
- South Hill
- Sumner
The county says ECEAP can help young learners with socialization, literacy, and math. Enrolled children will also be screened for vision and hearing issues, developmental development, and offered free USDA meals daily.
