Here’s Why Olivia Was Shouted Out As A Bonney Lake-Sumner Star Student

BONNEY LAKE, WA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Robyn Som, who nominated her granddaughter Olivia, a 10th grader from the Bonney Lake-Sumner area.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Olivia is a wonderful friend, daughter, grandaughter, sister & teammate. She is currently on the National Honor Society, the student council, the Key Club, and plays on the school's girls basketball team. Whenever I tell people I am Olivia's grandmother, time and time again, I hear what a great person she is, that she is always helpful & friendly. She volunteers to participate in school activities and does the task with a smile. Olivia is a star student as she does all the above while maintaining a 3.9 grade point averages. Her future plans are to continue to support her community by becoming a registered nurse and has already begun looking at colleges. I hope you will recognize Olivia in The Patch. Olivia contributes to her school whenever and however she can.
