Litter Removal Will Force SR 410 Lane Closures Next Week
The Washington State Department of Transportation says the closure will likely lead to long backups.
SUMNER, WA — Drivers who use SR 410 to get around will want to plan ahead for a large road closure set for next week.
According to an update from the Washington State Department of Transportation Friday, crews will be shutting down lanes of SR 410 in Sumner next week to make space for the Department of Ecology as it removes litter from the highway's median.
The first closure begins Wednesday. From 8 a.m. to noon that day, the left lane of eastbound SR 410 will close from Traffic Avenue to SR 162. The second leg of the closure comes Thursday, when crews will close the left lane of westbound SR 410 from noon to 3 p.m. That closure runs from 166th Street to SR 162.

WSDOT says even a single lane closure on the 410 can lead to long backups, and is warning drivers to avoid the area if possible. If they can't, the agency is urging drivers to slow down and drive cautiously to avoid any serious accidents.
