November Election Ballot issues are focus of LWVT-PC October Unit meetings
Mail in ballots will ask voters to weigh in on Washington State, Pierce County, and City of Tacoma issues.

On the Unit meeting agenda will be the hotly debated Referendum 2015-1 on County Council Ordinance to build a General Services Building at the site of the old, closed Puget Sound Hospital in the Lincoln District.
Other ballot items include two state-wide initiatives. Initiative 1366 deals with restrictions for raising taxes, Initiative 1401 deals with selling, trading, buying of distributing animal species.
Because of a law passed by initiative in 2012, any revenue-enhancing laws, including the removal of tax preferences, must be submitted on the next general ballot for advisory votes of the people. Four such laws are up for a vote and will be discussed at the meeting.

Also, Tacoma city voters will take a look at Initiatives 1 and 1B which deal with raising the minimum wage in businesses in Tacoma; Initiative 2 which concerns changing legislative and executive powers in the Tacoma City Council; and Proposition 3 and Proposition A which cover taxes and street improvements.
