Registration Opens For Pierce County's First 16+ Clinics
This week the state is massively expanding vaccine eligibility to include anyone 16 and older.
PIERCE COUNTY, WA — Pierce County is now allowing residents 16 years and older register for the COVID-19 vaccine.
This week, Washington is massively expanding vaccine eligibility, allowing everyone above 16 to qualify for a shot — assuming they can find one that is available.
To help prepare for the influx of newly-eligible residents, Pierce County has announced two clinics serving anyone 16 and older. The first will be Wednesday at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma.

Update 12:20p.m.: registration for the Franklin Pierce High School event has filled.
The second is Friday at 512 Valley Ave in Sumner. Both events are offering the Pfizer vaccine, which is the only vaccine approved for 16 and 17-year-old patients. It is a two dose vaccine, so applicants will be invited to sign up for a second dose at the event. The one dose J&J vaccine is not currently being offered in Washington.
