Teen Stabbed Behind Fred Meyer; Suspect Wanted
An 18-year-old man is in stable condition after he was stabbed in the chest by an unidentified assailant in the woods behind Fred Meyer.
BONNEY LAKE, WA — An 18-year-old man was stabbed in the chest during an altercation with an unknown and as-of-yet unidentified assailant in the forest between State Route 410 and South Prairie Road East, behind Fred Meyer. While the stabbing victim remains in stable condition at hospital, Bonney Lake police are actively searching for the assault suspect.
According to police, the victim and a few of his friends entered the wooded area sometime around midnight July 18 and ran into a man they did not know. The group got into some kind of altercation with the unknown man, and the victim ended up getting stabbed in the chest "by a bladed object," police said in a statement.
Officers and deputies from Pierce County Sheriff's Department, as well as a K9 unit, searched for the man but came out empty-handed.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5-foot-10 with a medium build. He was reportedly wearing dark clothing at the time of the attack.
