Trespasser At Sumner High School Prompts Brief Lockdown

District officials said someone with a no-trespass order appeared on campus Tuesday and was quickly apprehended.

SUMNER, WA — Sumner High School went into lockdown for 10 minutes Tuesday morning after a student with a no-trespass order was spotted on campus, according to the district. Officials said the non-SHS student briefly entered the building before a school resource officer apprehended them.

The Sumner-Bonney Lake School District said all students and staffers were safe and normal activities would resume.

"We're thankful for the swift action of the Sumner Police Department and school administration," the district wrote on Twitter. "As we do each day, SHS will remain vigilant in the safety of our students and staff."
