Vandals Burn Down Loyalty Park Restroom, Damage Sk8 Park
The City of Sumner says a pair of vandalism incidents over the weekend have forced some unfortunate closures.

SUMNER, WA — The City of Sumner says a pair of vandalism incidents have forced some new closures this week.
First, the restroom facilities at Loyalty Park have been completely destroyed. According to the city, vandals set the restrooms ablaze and burned them to the ground over the weekend.
Images from the scene also show a scorched tree above the former restroom area, but fortunately it does not appear that the fire spread beyond the restroom, and no other damages have been reported.

In the second incident, someone attacked the local Sk8 Park, pulling out rocks from the lip of the skate bowl. That makes it unsafe for skateboarding, the city said.

As a result, the Sk8 Park has also been closed, and will remain closed until the city can order repairs.

It is unclear if the two incidents are related. The Sumner Police Department says it is aware of both incidents, and that both are under investigation.
This is not the only attack on Loyalty Park this year. Back in June, the city hired crews to resurface the park. The park was closed for several days to allow the new surface time to settle, but during one of those nights vandals broke in, leaving large, permanent divots in the fresh playground surface.
The park has since been resurfaced a second time.
