• Washington and Oregon left waiting for new cost estimate to replace I-5 bridge (newsfromthestates.com) — A Buckley resident urged lawmakers to remember that everyday taxpayers can’t easily absorb higher costs as Washington and Oregon await a new, likely higher price estimate for replacing the I-5 bridge over the Columbia River. The bi-state committee expressed frustration that planners delayed releasing updated figures until the U.S. Coast Guard decides between a fixed or movable span, a choice that could add over half a billion dollars.
