Bail set at $100,000 for Centralia man accused of attacking woman (chronline.com) — A Centralia resident is being held on $100,000 bail after police say a woman was seriously injured during a reported domestic assault in a North Pearl Street home. Officers described significant visible injuries and arrested the man at the scene, leading a judge to order both high bail and a no-contact order based on his prior history. Arraignment is scheduled later this week.

Centralia police best Chehalis counterparts in annual friendly Salvation Army competition (chronline.com) — Centralia residents helped their police department top Chehalis in a friendly Salvation Army fundraising showdown at local Safeway stores, bringing in nearly $4,500 in just two hours. Combined, the two departments raised $6,505 for The Salvation Army of Lewis County, and bell ringers will continue collecting donations at Centralia-area stores through Christmas Eve.

Sophie Glancey Named Women's Basketball Player of the Week Following Historic Performance (wccsports.com) — A standout women’s basketball freshman from Centralia Portland forward Julia Dalan, just earned West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week honors after a 13-point, 12-rebound, four-block performance. The conference also recognized Santa Clara’s Sophie Glancey as Player of the Week following her 29-point outing, highlighting both players’ rising impact this season.

4. WA agency investigating police deadly force expanding to Pierce County (newsfromthestates.com) — Washington’s new Office of Independent Investigations is expanding to cover Pierce County and has already reviewed several police deadly-force cases, including one in Lewis County involving a Centralia officer. The office investigates incidents but leaves charging decisions to local prosecutors, who declined to file charges in that Centralia case. Future expansions could eventually affect how similar incidents here are reviewed statewide.
