Shooting At Arnies Parking Lot In Edmonds A Domestic Matter: Cops

Police said a brother is believed to have shot his sister before turning the gun on himself.

EDMONDS, WA — A man shot and injured his sister before turning the gun on himself at a parking lot in Edmonds Saturday, police said.

Police responded to the parking lot of Arnies Restaurant on Admiral Way around 11:45 a.m. for the report of suicidal subject with shots fired. Police said a man was found dead in the parking lot and a woman in her 40s had been shot in the back.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Police said an initial investigation showed that the man and woman are brother and sister. Witnesses told police the man shot his sister before turning the gun on himself.

Police recovered a shotgun from the scene and the shooting is being investigated as a domestic violence matter.

Police said there is no threat to the community and no outstanding suspects.

Police said there was no connection to a homicide that happened nearby on Dec. 14 at the Edmonds Senior Center.
