Cascade Symphony's 'Ensembles Concert' Coming Up

The Cascade Symphony Orchestra will put on its series of small instrumental ensembles in Edmonds on April 14.

EDMONDS, WA - From Cascade Symphony Orchestra: Musicians of the Cascade Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of maestro Michael Miropolsky, will perform in a series of small instrumental ensembles beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at Edmonds United Methodist Church, 828 Caspers Street, in Edmonds.

Ticket prices for the Ensemble concert are $15 for adults, $10 for students with an ID, and $5 for youngsters 12 and younger.

The ensemble performances will include a brass quintet playing the works of composers Johanna Beyer, John Cheetham and Wilke Renwick; a flute/piano combo playing “Fantasie” by composer Philippe Gaubert; and a clarinet quintet playing the music of Johannes Brahms.

Other featured performers will be a percussion ensemble in addition to a mixed group of clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, violin, cello and piano playing the Suite from “La Revue de cuisine” by Bohuslav Martinu. Two bass clarinets are scheduled to play “Profiteering” by Ian Dicke and “Rampi Rampi,” traditional Turkish tunes arranged by Hidan Mamudov.

The Cascade Symphony Orchestra will wrap up its 2018-19 season when it returns to its usual venue, Edmonds Center for the Arts, to perform its “Mozart and Mahler” concert on Monday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m.
