A new On the Fence temporary public artwork on the Frances Anderson Center playfield fence on Main Street is the creation of Edmonds Diversity Commission Student Representative and Edmonds-Woodway Senior Caitlin Chung in celebration of the Lunar New Year.

“The Start of a Lunar New Year Tradition” was created as part of the Edmonds Diversity Commission’s Lunar New Year event, held January 29th in downtown Edmonds. Edmonds’ artist and creator of several murals in downtown, Andy Eccleshall, worked with Ms. Chung to realize the final design and application. Along with help from Eccleshall, Chung thanks Lina Luu, Elizabeth Roberts, the Fuentes family, Dina Olson, Nikki Okimoto Glaros, Karin Mei Butler, and Shubert Ho, who contributed to the Chung’s ability to take 2 plain sheets of plywood and turn them into a mural in just a few days.
