Edmonds Couple Wins For Life: Washington Lottery

An Edmonds couple will get $52K per year for life after their recent Washington Lottery Scratch-it win.

EDMONDS, WA - Seeing isn't always believing when it comes to winning massive awards from the Washington Lottery. An Edmonds couple recently had that experience while playing a "Lucky For Life" Scratch-it, according to Lottery officials.

"I gave the ticket to my wife to scratch because she likes to scratch them off for me," one of the Edmonds winners recently told Lottery officials. "She stopped, said 'will you read this, am I reading this right?’ and I said ‘we better go back to QFC to check this on a machine.'"

Heading back to the QFC at 22828 100th Ave. W in Edmonds where they bought the ticket, the couple learned they'd hit the win for life jackpot, which pays out $52,000 per year.

The couple said they'll use the winnings to take a trip to the Carolinas in celebration of their friends' 50th wedding anniversary.

Although a regular Scratch-it player, this is the winner's first brush with significant Lottery success, officials said.
