National Wildlife Week

National Wildlife Week is a signature event of National Wildlife Federation’s Be Out There™ campaign, an initiative to connect families and communities to nature, raise healthier kids, instill a conservation ethic, and inspire a life-long appreciation of wildlife and the environment. Held annually since 1938, National Wildlife Week is National Wildlife Federation’s longest-running education program.

The Edmonds Wildlife Habitat & Sustainability Project invites you to join in these free events to celebrate National Wildlife Week:

SUNDAY, 3/14: Kick-off NWW Week with a presentation on “How to Create a Wildlife Habitat Garden” talk from 10am to 12pm at the Edmonds Wildlife Habitat & Native Plant Demonstration Garden located at 95 Pine Street, Edmonds off HWY 104. The talk will take place down the hill at the Willow Creek Salmon Hatchery Classroom.

TUESDAY, 3/16: “Backyard Birds of WA, How to Identify and Attract the Top 25 Birds”

Pilchuck Audubon Education Chair & NWF Habitat Host Laura Spehar will give a power point presentation at the Willow Creek Hatchery Classroom Building located off HWY 104 at 95 Pine Street from 7pm to 9pm. All ages welcome, free event, sorry,no on-site bathroom on site.

THURSDAY, 3/17: Join us at the Edmonds Artwalk, bring the kids by the Fabric of Life store located at 523 Main Street from 5:00-8:00 to pick-up some cool freebies from the National Wildlife Federation. Also in honor of Artwalk we will be giving out coloring sheets created by our own local artist and wildlife enthusiast, Sue Coccia.

FRIDAY, 3/18: “Wildlife Movie Night” at 7pm, Join us for the film, “First Flight: A Mother Hummingbirds Story”. This 45 minute film is delightful. We will have local hummingbird Q&A at the end of the movie. All ages welcome, free event, sorry, no on-site bathroom available. Film will be shown at the Willow Creek Hatchery Classroom Building located off HWY 104 at 95 Pine Street at the bottom of the hill.
