Magnitude 2.5 Earthquake Recorded Southwest Of Edmonds

The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network reported a small earthquake in Puget Sound on Friday afternoon.

EDMONDS, WA — A small earthquake was detected beneath Puget Sound Friday afternoon, just a few miles southwest of Edmonds and northwest of Shoreline. The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network originally reported a magnitude of 3, before downgrading it to 2.5. Typically, earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.5 or below are too weak to be felt.

According to the PNSN, Friday's quake was recorded at a depth of nearly 14 miles.
