Snohomish County to Host Virtual Public Presentation to Review Drainage Manual Public Comments

County received 45 public comments

EVERETT, Wash., August 31, 2021 –  The Snohomish County Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) received 45 public comments regarding the Snohomish County’s Drainage Manual updates that went into effect July 1. The county will be hosting a public presentation to review comments received.

Snohomish County implemented one comment, related to bioretention plant requirements, in the 2021 Drainage Manual. Implementation of 34 comments would require Washington State Department of Ecology approval, which can’t be obtained before Ecology issued further regulatory revisions in 2024. However, implementation of the remaining 10 comments would not require Ecology approval, and the county has given more consideration to these.

Join the Snohomish County Executive Office and county staff at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 9 for a Virtual Public Presentation to learn more about the public comments and the county’s responses to them.
