Snohomish County Sheriff's Office: SIU Detectives Arrest Snohomish Man For Two Counts Of Third-Degree Child Rape

The suspect was known to the victim's family through friends for several years.

ARLINGTON, Wash. – Around 1 p.m. today, the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) arrested a 36-year-old Snohomish man for two counts of third-degree child rape.

Between August and November 2021, the suspect had sexual contact with the 15-year-old victim numerous times. The suspect was known to the victim’s family through friends for several years. During this time, the suspect developed a relationship with the victim and began grooming the victim while communicating via cell phone and social media.

Throughout the investigation, SIU detectives developed probable cause to arrest the 36-year-old suspect for two counts of third-degree child rape.

The suspect posted bond earlier today and was released from the Snohomish County Jail where he was being held for multiple felony charges unrelated to this case. Shortly after being released, deputies located the suspect at a business near Broadway and Wall Street in Everett. The 36-year-old Snohomish man was taken into custody without incident and booked back into the Snohomish County Jail for two counts of third-degree child rape.
