Kittitas County officials warn of effects of floodwater on wells and septic systems (applevalleynewsnow.com) — Flooding around Ellensburg and greater Kittitas County has officials urging residents to avoid contact with floodwater and to treat or test any well water that may be contaminated. People are also asked to stop using septic systems until water levels drop, and to call Kittitas County Public Health or check the Sheriff’s Facebook page for updates on flooding, road closures, and sandbags.
   

2. Washington doctor indicted for trafficking DOT Physical examinations and narcotics (thetrucker.com) — Federal prosecutors say a former Ellensburg clinic owner has been indicted on multiple felony counts tied to commercial driver physicals and controlled substance prescriptions at Awake Health between 2018 and 2022. Authorities allege falsified DOT exams and improper prescriptions, and a judge has ordered her held in custody while the case moves toward trial.
   

3. Anderson Hay warns of supply disruption unless debts to farmers paid (capitalpress.com) — An Ellensburg-based exporter, Anderson Hay, is warning that local and regional farmers may stop supplying hay unless a bankruptcy judge lets the company immediately pay more than $22 million owed for past deliveries. The firm argues that without quick approval to pay growers, its export contracts, long-term supplier relationships, and overall viability could be at risk, with a key hearing set for Dec. 17 in Yakima.
   

4. Community Cookbook: Homemade holiday treats perfect for sharing or snacking (spokesman.com) — One of these holiday treat recipes comes with a local twist: the writer created his Peanut Crispies while preparing snacks for a Community Living fundraiser at Indian John Hill, the I-90 rest area near Ellensburg.
