Enumclaw Rep. Selected As Assistant Floor Leader For 2019 Session
For his second term as a Washington State representative, Morgan Irwin (R-Enumclaw) was selected as the assistant floor leader.

ENUMCLAW, WA - Enumclaw's Republican Representative, Morgan Irwin, was selected to serve as the assistant floor leader for the 2019 Legislative Session that began Monday this week. Washington State House Republicans publicly announced Irwin's selection Thursday.
According to the statement released by House Republicans, Irwin's duties will include "organizing and managing debate on the House floor, representing Republicans in negotiations with majority party floor leaders, and assisting caucus leadership in the development of legislative strategy and policy."
This is Irwin's second stint as a Washington State representative serving the 31st Legislative District, which beyond Enumclaw also encompasses the southern King and Pierce county cities of Buckley, Bonney Lake, Auburn, Sumner, Edgewood, South Prairie, Wilkeson and Carbonado.

"It's an honor and privilege to have earned the trust of my fellow Republican colleagues to serve as a member of our caucus leadership team," Irwin said in a statement. "We will be navigating complex policy and budgets this session. I look forward to the work ahead, and advancing citizen priorities of holding government accountable, empowering families, keeping communities strong, and offering pathways to making life more affordable. These are the demands of the citizens of our state and the core values of the House Republican Caucus. We will offer solutions that are a better way for a better Washington."
In addition to his assignment as assistant floor leader, Irwin also holds the ranking Republican leadership position on the House Civil Rights and Judiciary Committee, and lesser positions on both the House Capital Budget and Transportation committees.
