• Enumclaw council accepting applications for vacant seat (courierherald.com) — Enumclaw residents can now apply to fill City Council Position 6, which becomes vacant when Mayor‑elect Anthony Wright takes office Jan. 1, 2026. Applications are due Dec. 29, with interviews at the Jan. 26 council meeting, and the city is also seeking volunteers for its Park Board and upcoming Human Services Advisory Board.
   

• Kentridge boys doomed from the start as Auburn cleans up (kentreporter.com) — Enumclaw High’s boys team is briefly noted among several opponents Auburn has dominated during its undefeated start, including a lopsided win over Kentridge this week. The story focuses on how Auburn jumped out early, never trailed, and exposed Kentridge’s struggles handling pressure, while Kentridge coaches and players look to regroup for upcoming league and non-league games.
   

• Shannon LaRae Vaughn, 52 (bonnercountydailybee.com) — Friends with ties to Enumclaw will remember Shannon Vaughn for her years worshiping at Enumclaw Community Church, working in a downtown salon, and raising kids involved at Enumclaw Middle School. The 52‑year‑old former Buckley resident later moved to Idaho, where she passed away after a long battle with cancer; a celebration of life is planned in Sandpoint next May.
