One More Closure for SR 167 Tuesday Evening as Project Completes

WSDOT crews were able to complete the majority of a project to install a 220-foot-long culvert under State Route 167 in Renton over the weekend but need to close the roadway one more time Tuesday evening to finish the job.

RENTON – Crews reopened State Route 167 Monday morning after a weekend-long closure. Over the weekend, crews removed 100 feet of SR 167 pavement to dig a 25-foot-deep trench and install a 220-foot-long culvert. Crews completed the installation and, as planned, paved all but the last layer of pavement.

To add the final layer of paving, crews aim to close two lanes of southbound SR 167 between I-405 and South 180th Street on Tuesday evening beginning at 7:30 p.m. and reopen at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. (There was already a closure of two lanes of northbound SR 167 between South 180th Street and I-405 Monday night beginning at 7:30 p.m. and set to reopen at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.)

Traffic conditions on SR 167 can be monitored on the Seattle traffic page at www.wsdot.wa.gov/Traffic/seattle.
