Two Gig Harbor Students Named on George Fox University Dean's List

NEWBERG, Ore. (June 19, 2012) – Seven-hundred students received undergraduate and graduate diplomas at George Fox University’s spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday, April 28, 2012. The university also released the names of dean’s list recipients for the 2012 spring semester.

Sophomore Family and Consumer Sciences student Shanna Coulston and junior nursing student Erika Moss were named on the 2012 Spring Dean's List.

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must earn a 3.5 grade point average for at least one term.

Three-hundred-and-seventy-six students received bachelor’s degrees after completing study in one of George Fox’s 41 undergraduate bachelor’s degrees or its adult degree programs. Another 324 students received a master’s degree or a doctorate after completing study in one of the university’s graduate programs or in its seminary.

Angela Bymaster, a 2000 alumna of George Fox who become an MD and now works for the Santa Clara County Homeless Healthcare Program, addressed the undergraduates. Jeanette Eggert, an associate professor of math and physics at Concordia University in Portland, Ore., spoke at the graduate, seminary and adult degree program ceremony.

More than 3,500 students attend classes on the university’s campus in Newberg, Ore., and at teaching centers in Portland, Salem, and Redmond, Ore., and Boise, Idaho. George Fox offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 40 majors, degree-completion programs for working adults, five seminary degrees, and 11 master’s and doctoral degrees.
