Apply Now For The Creative Endeavor Grants From Gig Harbor
The city's Arts Commission is offering $20,000 in grants to artists and/or organizations that will locally promote arts and culture.

GIG HARBOR, WA β Organizations and individuals that promote arts and culture in Gig Harbor are encouraged to apply for the city's Creative Endeavor grants program before the June 30 deadline.
The newly launched grant program was designed by the Gig Harbor Arts Commission to support the work of local artists and arts and culture organizations in increasing the variety of artistic experiences available to the community.
According to city officials, the Arts Commission will award as many qualified applicants as it can from the total $20,000 Creative Endeavors fund.

The commission provided the following guidelines for prospective applicants:
- The applicant demonstrates the public benefit/value to the community and emphasizes the strengths of Gig Harbor. The applicant shows that the event will be broadly advertised to the community (or, if intended to bring in out-of-town visitors, that the advertising is designed for that purpose).
- The project or event would not occur without GHAC funding. If the project can still be done without GHAC funding, the application should explain how the requested funds will improve the project.
- The target audience is Gig Harbor and the adjacent community, or the project is intended to bring in visitors from outside the area. Events outside of summer months/tourist season will be given preference.
- The event is accessible financially so that members of the public are not excluded based on ability to pay admission (For example: Will admission be charged? Will there be donations at the door? Will there be an opportunity to βpay what you wish?β)
Additional guidelines listed on the application include specifics for how the money will and will not be used by the grant recipients.

Editor's note: This post was updated from its original version to clarify the total grant amount, $20,000, will be dispersed among as many qualified applicants as it possibly can, as opposed to just one grant recipient.
