• Thousands without power on the Key Peninsula Wednesday evening (thenewstribune.com) — Power has been restored to earlier outages in Gig Harbor, but thousands of Peninsula Light customers on the Key Peninsula were without electricity Wednesday evening after a widespread transmission-related problem. Crews patrolled lines, investigated reports of downed trees, and worked on rerouting power while scattered smaller outages persisted around Gig Harbor. 
• Sports The News Tribune's 2025 All-Area high school football team (theolympian.com) — Gig Harbor and Peninsula football standouts earned spots on The News Tribune’s 2025 All-Area teams, with lineman Peyton Howard and linebacker Henry Blake representing Gig Harbor and punter Talen McDonnell and several Peninsula teammates also honored. The selections spotlight South Sound programs’ strong seasons, including multiple deep state playoff runs and back-to-back titles for Sumner.
• Gorst culvert projects will delay drivers starting next spring (gigharbornow.org) — Drivers traveling between Gig Harbor and Bremerton should expect major delays from multi-year culvert and bridge projects near Gorst starting next spring, including bypass lanes and reduced speeds. The work is part of a statewide effort to improve fish passage and follows similar Highway 16 culvert replacements that already affected Gig Harbor-area traffic.
