Body Found Floating In Cast Inlet May Be Missing Kayaker

A kayaker found the body Friday morning near Stretch Point State Park.

GIG HARBOR, WA - A body found floating in the water near Allyn on Friday morning might belong to a kayaker who went missing in January.

Mason County will perform an autopsy on the body Monday morning to determine if it's Andrew Aldrich, 31, who went missing Jan. 3. The U.S. Coast Guard found Aldrich's kayak, but found no signs of his body.

Aldrich entered the water near Allyn around midnight on Jan. 3, according to the coast guard. He was using the kayak to go about 300 yards from a boat to his car parked along the shore. Aldrich was not wearing a life jacket.
