Help! Flower-Eating Cat!

Does your cat destroy your flowers?

At my household, we rarely have real flowers. It’s not because I don't like them or I’m allergic, it’s because of my mischievous sidekick, Ayu.

Yes, Ayu is my 11-year-old overweight orange tabby who is obsessed with food—and flowers (…and leaves, too. She once attacked some lettuce from my salad.) Roses are her favorite—ironically, her original name at the shelter was “Rose”.

About 2 weeks ago, my parents were in town, and they bought me a gorgeous bouquet of chrysanthemums and gerbera daisies.

Ayu was on her utmost best behavior by leaving them alone for two weeks. However, this past Monday, she finally gave into her urges and began munching on one of the daisies. By the time I caught her it was too late. She had done enough damage. (Check out the photos above for evidence.)

So my question to all the cat owners out there, does your cat feast on your picture perfect (or in my cat’s world: purrfect, sorry!) bouquets?
