City Of Gig Harbor: Notice Of Public Hearing Comprehensive Plan Amendment

Notice is hereby given that the City of Gig Harbor City Council is holding a public hearing to solicit community feedback on four Comprehensive Plan Amendments. You are invited to provide comment to the City Council at the hearing or in writing as outlined at the bottom of this notice.

PL-COMP-22-0001: Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces (PROS) Element Update

Update the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Element (Chapter 11) and Capital Facilities Element (Chapter 13) consistent with the updated Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan.  

PL-COMP-22-0002: Capital Facilities and Utilities Element Procedural Updates

Update the Capital Facilities Element (Chapter 13) and Utilities Element (Chapter 9) consistent with the Comprehensive Plan amendment procedures provided in the Gig Harbor Municipal Code, Chapter 19.09, and with other pertinent Comprehensive Plan Elements, as well as any relevant case law.  

PL-COMP-22-0003: Climate Change

Update the Comprehensive Plan, generally, to include language pertaining to climate change and sustainability.

PL-COMP-22-0004: Update to Stormwater Management

Add the Stormwater Management Action Plan (SMAP) as an appendix to the City’s Stormwater Comprehensive Plan.

Commenting

All persons will have an opportunity to present their oral comments at the public hearing.   Those wishing to submit written comments may do so at the hearing or by submitting them to the Community Development Department at the address below, or by e-mail at cdesimas@gigharborwa.gov or by facsimile at (253) 858-6408.  All written comments must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022.

Documents pertinent to this application will be available before the hearing for review and inspection at the City of Gig Harbor Planning Division, 3510 Grandview Street, Gig Harbor, WA  98335, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday or on the City’s Permit Portal.
