Curbside Pickup Now Offered At 15 Pierce County Libraries
Readers can now request books online and local libraries will leave books at the curb for pickup.

GIG HARBOR, WA β As of Monday, August 3 curbside pickup is now available at 15 libraries across Pierce County, with more libraries joining them soon.
Pierce County Library System first began curbside pickup with just eight libraries on July 20, but say it's been so popular they've had to double the number of participating libraries. Libraries offering curbside services include:
- Buckley
- DuPont
- Eatonville
- Fife
- Gig Harbor
- Key Center
- Lakewood
- Milton/Edgewood
- Orting
- Parkland/Spanaway
- South Hill
- Summit
- Sumner
- Tillicum
- University Place
The Graham Pierce County Library will also join the program on August 10, followed by Bonney Lake and Steilacoom libraries on August 17.

Librarians say the system is easy to use simply use a library card to place a hold on a book through the Library's online catalog. The library will then text, call or email the cardholder when the books are ready for pickup. Renters then reserve a time for pickup at curbside.pcls.us or on the library system's mobile app, and come by at the designated time to retrieve the items.
The system can also be used to order prints, and librarians are also offering a "grab bag" where renters can receive three books hand-picked by staff based on the renter's reading preferences.
