Eight-Car Collision On I-5 In Tacoma Dome Causes Traffic Havoc
For anyone coming from the south via the freeway or west via State Route 16, prepare for a long wait.
An eight-car collision on northbound Interstate 5 near the Tacoma Dome caused traffic havoc just in time for the Friday afternoon commute.
The crash - which occurred around 2 p.m., at the I-5 interchange - slowed drivers coming from Lakewood, Gig Harbor and University Place to a crawl on the highway and kept it slow-moving until about 6 p.m.
At one point on eastbound State Route 16, traffic extended all the way to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.
