The Gig Harbor Historic Waterfront Association is “Chalk the Walk,” on Sunday, July 17 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Artists, aspiring artists and anyone who just wants to have a day of fun are invited downtown to decorate the sidewalks of Gig Harbor’s Historic Waterfront District with chalk art. The Waterfront Association will provide free chalk for everyone and presents awards in the following categories:
- Kids
- Family
- High School and College Students
- Adults
- Professional Chalk Artists
Chalk the Walk is held in conjunction with Peninsula Art League’s Summer Arts Festival. “Around the Sound” transit will be available to shuttle artists and onlookers between sidewalk districts in downtown and in Finholm. Strolling the sidewalks to view these amazing works of art makes for an enjoyable day in the Harbor! Participants are encouraged to bring knee pads or a chair for comfort.
