Gig Harbor Celebrates National Tourism Week

In celebration of National Tourism Week and in support of “Share Your Washington”, a Washington State Tourism promotion campaign, a community photo is planned on Tuesday May 10th at Jerisich Dock Fisherman’s Memorial at 1 p.m.

In an effort to entice residents of Washington to travel in the State of Washington, “Share Your Washington” is a message that shows the positive economic impact tourism has in this state.

Gig Harbor’s tourism marketing efforts, led by the City of Gig Harbor’s marketing office, promotes tourism in the greater Gig Harbor region.  Working in partnership with local businesses, organizations and non-profits, the marketing efforts of the City of Gig Harbor focus on attracting overnight guests, tours, groups and conventions.  Additionally the tourism marketing efforts support the development of amenities and attractions that provide a visitor a positive experience in Gig Harbor while protecting and preserving the authentic maritime heritage.

On Tuesday May 10th, community members, volunteers, business leaders and owners,  elected officials, Chamber of Commerce members, Visitor Information Center staff and volunteers, merchants, lodging and tourism industry staff and professionals, heritage leaders, event organizers, museum operators, restaurateurs and generally anyone interested in the health and vitality of the local Gig Harbor economy are invited to join together for a community photo. The photo, being orchestrated by the Tacoma Convention and Visitor Bureau will be used in future promotion for “Share Your Washington”.
