Gig Harbor Police Arrest Suspect Accused Of 4 Bank Robberies

The robberies included one in Gig Harbor, one in Tacoma, and two more across Pierce County.

GIG HARBOR, WA β€” The Gig Harbor Police Department has captured a suspect who, officer say, is behind four recent bank robberies across the county.

According to an update from the police department Monday, Gig Harbor officers and Pierce County Sheriff's Department deputies teamed up to bring the suspect into custody. Investigators claim the suspect robbed a Gig Harbor bank in the 3100 block of 56th Street back on March 23. In that robbery, he allegedly entered the bank, announced he was robbing it, took money from cashiers and ran off on foot. He did not display or threaten to use a weapon, officers said.

While investigating that incident, police say they linked the suspect with three other recent bank robberies, one in Tacoma and two more in unincorporated Pierce County. Officers have not released any further details on those three incidents.
