Gig Harbor Police Investigating After Vandals Deface Unity Mural

The mural in Gig Harbor's Finholm District had been painted to express support with the Ukrainian people as they endure Russian invasion.

The vandals appear to have tried to paint over the mural with the Russian flag, though they got the order of the colors wrong and ended up painting the French flag backwards.

GIG HARBOR, WA β€” The Gig Harbor Police Department is hoping the public can help them track down vandals who defaced a mural in the city's Finholm District overnight.

The mural originally expressed support for the Ukrainian people, but was sloppily painted over with buckets worth of paint in the middle of the night.

"This conduct is not common in Gig Harbor and we truly don't understand the intent of this act," the police department said.
