Peninsula School District Seeking Feedback For Strategic Plan
An online communications tool is one way the district will gather information from the community before the plan is revealed in June.

GIG HARBOR, WA βThe Peninsula School District (PSD) has announced a series of in-person information sessions and an online portal to help gather feedback for the district's new Strategic Plan for 2022-26.
According to PSD Superintendent Krestin Bahr, the PSD School Board is leading the effort to create a plan that will guide all of the district's decisions over the next five years. Bahr said she expects the final plan to be revealed to the public in June.
"By carefully aligning our values and goals within a strategic plan, we will ensure the district is moving in the right direction to achieve our mission and vision," Bahr said, according to the district website.

The school board already has created a vision, mission, values and goals, but Bahr said that only is a starting point.
"We are inviting all staff members, parents, students, community leaders and other interested members of the public to contribute their thoughts, ideas and hopes β so that we can effectively plan for the future of our students," Bahr wrote in a letter to the school district community that was posted on social media. "We want to hear from everyone in Gig Harbor and on the Key Peninsula."

To that end, the district will host four open-house sessions later this month, where the strategic plan process will be discussed and attendees can learn how they can participate further in the initiative. The district said the sessions are family-friendly and children are invited.
The four sessions are:
- 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 20 at Artondale Elementary School, 6219 40th St. NW, Gig Harbor
- 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 21 at Key Peninsula Civic Center, 7010 S Vaughn Rd. NW, Vaughn
- 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 27 at Harbor Ridge Middle School, 9010 Prentice Ave., Gig Harbor
- 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on April 30 at Evergreen Elementary School, 1632 Key Peninsula Hwy. SW, Lakebay
The district also has announced that stakeholders can participate in the strategic plan process online through ThoughtExchange, a communications tool that allows people to share thoughts anonymously.
Bahr said the feedback collected during the process will be shared with the school board and district's leadership, who will then incorporate the information into the final plan.
"I sincerely hope you consider taking part in our strategic planning process to help shape and guide the future direction for the Peninsula School District," Bahr wrote.
