Peninsula School District has 58 Nutrition Services workers, ranging from bakers and cooks to kitchen leads, cashiers, drivers, and food service workers.
At the elementary schools, workers prepare and prepackage breakfasts and lunches to deliver to students in every classroom. At the secondary schools, workers also cook and prepare meals for their students. Sixteen shipping carts of food go out daily from Peninsula High School to be delivered to the majority of the rest of the schools across the district.

βThe thing our workers enjoy most about the job is knowing kids have a meal every day,β said Katie Walters, Director of Nutrition Services. βThey are approachable and friendly, waving to students as they walk by their kitchens.β
Walters said that the logistics of feeding kids during the pandemic have been challenging, yet their mission to feed kids never waivered. βThis team has been incredible and worked through many challenges,β Walters said. βEven last year, we found creative ways to feed students in the district and community.β
Please join us in thanking all of our Nutrition Services Staff across the district!
