PSD Lifts Modified Lockdown for Kopachuck Middle, Voyager Elementary Schools
The lockdown was lifted as of 12:05 p.m. on Monday.

Pierce County Sheriff contacted the Peninsula School District office on Monday, Nov. 19 recommending a modified lockdown for Kopachuck Middle School and Voyager Elementary School due to police activity in the neighborhood where a burglary was reported.
Soon after 11:25 a.m., both schools were contacted and administrators placed their schools in a modified lockdown.
At 12:05 p.m., the modified lockdown was lifted. As a precaution, students will remain in the building during lunch and recess for the remainder of the day.

The suspect in the interrupted burglary was not apprehended. The K-9 Unit ceased tracking.
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a knit cap, dark coat and possibly glasses. If you see anyone looking suspicious that fits the description, contact law enforcement.
