Stinson Ave Closure To Cause 'Significant Delays' Starting Monday
A major construction project in downtown Gig Harbor starts Monday, and will continue into the summer. Here's what to know.
GIG HARBOR, WA β A major construction project in downtown Gig Harbor is expected to gum up traffic for quite some time.
Gig Harbor's Stinson Avenue Overlay and Intersection Improvement Project is set to begin Monday. The project will add several needed improvements, like reconstructing the Grandview/Stinson intersection, a new roundabout at the Rosedale intersection, and adding a pavement overlay on Stinson between the two intersections. The city says once the work is done the road should be significantly safer for drivers and pedestrians, and will hopefully cut down on traffic backups for commuters.
However, it's going to cause significant traffic backups while it's being built. Construction is expected to last through summer and Stinson Avenue will undergo several different closures during that time.
