After earning a master’s in nursing, Shing Burkhart moved back to Hockinson in 2014, choosing community-based school nursing over hospital work to make a daily impact on local kids’ health.
   

• Neighbors frustrated by pace of Camp Bonneville cleanup (thereflector.com) — Neighbors packed Hockinson Middle School to press state and county officials about why Camp Bonneville still isn’t safe to open as a park after decades of cleanup. Ecology staff detailed remaining unexploded ordnance, missing safety controls, and the need for a new long-term management and master plan before public access anywhere near Hockinson can move forward.
