Bridle Trails Party; Nettleton Commons Garage Sale
Things you might want to know today, Saturday, June 25, 2011.

- The sun rises at 5:13 a.m. and sets at 9:11 p.m.
- The Bridle Trails Park Foundation's Party in the Park is 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the state park's Horse Show Grounds, with free shuttle bus from the nearby Houghton Park and Ride. Lots of great fun for the kids, including pony rides, face-painting, nature walks, performing pigs and miniature horses. There's also a 5k/10k run/walk, pancake breakfast and live music.
- The Green Kirkland Partnership needs volunteers to help with a work party at Juanita Bay Park, 9 a.m.-noon, pulling invasive weeds and planting native species. It's a great effort that is truly helping restore this wildlife-rich park.
- A multi-family garage sale starts at 9 a.m. at Nettleton Commons, 424 3rd Lane S. (off State St. between 4th and 5th Ave. S), with clothes, furniture, household goods, electronics and such all for sale. It continues Sunday at 9 a.m. as well.
