• Former Eastside broker convicted in $2M real estate scheme (mynorthwest.com) — A former real estate broker who once lived in Kirkland has been convicted in a multimillion‑dollar fraud scheme that drained an investment fund and hurt more than 20 investors, many in Seattle. Federal prosecutors say she and her husband misused investor money for personal luxuries, failed to repay so‑called “loans,” and left the fund empty before finally admitting the losses. Sentencing is set for March 2026.
   

• VIDEO: Elderly couple robbed, attacked in Lynnwood, WA parking lot (fox13seattle.com) — Robberies in nearby Lynnwood and Bellevue are targeting elderly victims in parking lots, a pattern Kirkland residents should be aware of when shopping around the region. Police say a Romanian couple violently stole jewelry and an $80,000 watch, injuring one woman, and may be tied to a broader crime ring. The pair were arrested at a Bellevue residence and face first‑degree robbery charges.
